This Policy Brief recommends JakLingko App proliferation for public transport integration in the Greater Jakarta area.

The JakLingko app will be the first Mobility as a Service (MaaS) app in Indonesia. Digital payment integration is a key feature of the JakLingko app. This research demonstrates the preferences of public transportation users, as end-users, regarding the features that should be available in the JakLingko app.

  1. Route information integration is the most important feature expected to be available in the JakLingko application.

  2. Real-time vehicle positioning and the latest route operational information.

  3. A trip planner to help users find the most suitable route and schedule to their destination..

The feature for purchasing tickets using various digital payment methods is ranked just below the above three features. This demonstrates the importance of these three features in ensuring the JakLingko application, as a digital payment integration tool, to attract users. The ultimate goal for JakLingko, as an integrated transportation system, is to meet real public transport user needs, not only to achieve priority programs.
